Researchers at Univeristy of Miami have found that patients with oral cancer carry a protein called CD44. They have found a method to find its prescence in saliva. At this point more study is of course necessary.

  1. I remember my dentist (Rock Hill, SC) mentioning this news to me early this year, though it wasn't because he thought I had oral cancer. I was in the middle of my regular teeth cleaning that time, and he said my saliva reminded him of that bit of information, which was shared to him by a fellow dentist (Tega Cay-based). Do you have any update?
